HTC Touch Cruise (former Polaris) in November

HTC announced the release of the new HTC Touch Cruise, a new smartphone that is also equipped with GPS and a 400 MHz processor. It is due to be available in November 2007 with pricing still unknown. It is also very likely to be shipped with TomTom Navigator 6 and we can assume that most of the tricks mentioned on this website can also be applied to this new version.

Silver HTC Touch

According to theunwired.net, HTC is going to release a silver version of the HTC Touch this October all across Europe. Watch out for further information.

Announcement of HTC Touch Dual, October 2nd, 2007

On October 2nd, 2007, the HTC Corporation announced a new product in the HTC Touch series: the HTC Touch Dual, a sliding smartphone with improved TouchFlo™ technology, a faster processor (400 MHz) and HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE support. It will be released in the end of October 2007, but however does lack WiFi capabilities which can be considered a serious disadvantage compared to the first product.

About the first HTC Touch

On June 5th 2007, the HTC Corporation announced its newest smartphone: the HTC Touch, also known as "Elf" or the HTC P3450. Considering that Apple announced the iPhone half a year earlier but not having it available until the end of June, the release of the HTC P3450 seems to be a clever move by HTC. However this is only valid for Asia and Europe, the U.S. market will have to wait until the end of 2007 until the HTC Touch is available there as well.

Owing to the HTC Touch's innovative TouchFlo™ technology, the user is able to operate this device using simple gestures, for example wiping across the screen with a thumb. This alone looks rather impressive, almost futuristic and will guarantee you jealous looks from everyone. The HTC Touch is really a headturner.

But there's more to the Elf than meets the eye. Even though it doesn't have the fastest of today's processors, it is ridiculously small and light-weight. It easily fits into your trouser pocket and you won't even notice it. On the connectivity side it offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ExtUSB™ which is basically an 11-pin mini-USB and audio jack in one. The HTC Touch does however lack infrared capability but in modern times of Bluetooth wireless data transfer this seems to be a bit out of fashion anyway. For further details on the P3450 make sure to check out the specifications page.
