Pictures of the HTC Touch, right out of the Box

Out of the Box

This is how the HTC Touch comes shipped to you.

Notice the soft inlays and the hidden magnet that all give a very valuable touch to the entire box.

If you manage to get the HTC Touch device itself out of the box, you will find a SanDisk SD Card underneath it - with one gigabyte of space for all your favorite applications, music, videos, pictures and whatever data you can imagine. Even though SD Cards aren't that expensive anymore today I think it is very nice to include such a big card for free. It really helps the first start. If you still need more space take a look at the available accessories and compatible cards.

The HTC Touch also comes with a pair of its own earplugs, using the new mini-USB interface.

This is how the individual pieces look like:

Note the special protective bag that the HTC Elf comes with, it's made of really nice material and fits the smartphone perfectly.

Manuals and getting started quickguides are also included, as well as CDs with software and drivers.

Another goodie worth mentioning is the included protective sheet for the Touch's screen. It helps the Touch's screen from getting scratched and comes in perfect size. So no worries anymore about buying cheap protection sheets at eBay from dubious sources.

After you have attached the protective sheet to your HTC Touch it is time to insert the battery.

Pushing the power button starts the installation progress. First comes the HTC logo, then the Windows Mobile screen appears.

After you have set up all initial values, you can start using your fancy new smartphone. If you're experiencing problems with ActiveSync, be sure to check out this tutorial on how to get it running smoothly (and fast)!
